Yoga Source Palo Alto

Website Design

The Challenge

YogaSource wanted to redesign their website so that it would have a more modern look and feel. They had a lot of information to be organized and conveyed in a manner that wouldn’t be overwhelming to their customers.

The Scope

I had 6 months to complete the project; that included complete wireframes, new photography, and integration with MINDBODY, the booking app that most yoga studios use to manage students and scheduling.

My Role

I worked as the web designer and developer. I created the website on Wordpress, using the MINDBODY plugin to display the studio’s schedule and manage bookings. I created graphics for page headings, and sourced studio photography as well as stock photography. I also worked with YogaSource’s in-house designer and developer. She would be managing the website after its creation, so I mentored her on the development and maintenance required, and I created process documentation so she could create any future image assets for the website.

What I Learned

This was my first experience creating process documents that were meant to be used by a person other than myself. It was really valuable to see my writing interpreted by another person - I made sure my written communication was clear and concise.
