Robin Care

UX/UI

The Challenge

Founded in 2016 by Adrianne Nickerson and Hugh Ma, Robin Care is a personalized cancer support program designed to help patients through their journey. They partner with employers and healthcare providers so members can access the support they need. When I was hired in 2016, they were beginning to partner with their first employers, and needed a designer to create all the necessary marketing and informational materials to help a new member through the program.

My Role

I was hired by the Robin Care team to lend a professional eye to their design. Initially working on direct mail, email templates, and event signage, I eventually began to collaborate with the team on UI design for their website and app.

What I Learned

I utilized a lot of the skills I had acquired with Fieldlens to assist in creating a User Interface that would inspire trust, look professional, and feel compassionate. Creating designs that inspire compassion and empathy struck me as an interesting challenge, and is a theme I’d like to continue to study in graduate school.

Results

During my time at Robin Care, membership increased exponentially and I designed what would become the new web and user interface and onboarding screens. Robin Care eventually grew too large for a one-woman design team and contracted with a marketing firm to meet their growing marketing and design needs. I was happy to assist in the transition.
